In Memory - Mr Terry Springthorpe

It was with great sadness we announced the passing of Terry Springthorpe on Wednesday 6th August 2025, Terry passed away with Anne (our Club Chair) at his side after a short time in hospital.

Terry and Anne welcomed Midas, their first PON, to join their Newfoundland family in 1998, Terry joked about Midas’ typical PON stubbornness however over the years also welcomed Inga, Princess, Lordi and Tess to their family.
Terry was at most PLSC shows, always cheerful and friendly, he helped out at shows, enjoyed the company, and was usually seen with a cup of tea in hand.

Terry was very generous and talented too - donating to the club his hand engraved vases, tables and planters to name a few.

Terry was a quiet man, with a great sense of humour and totally devoted to Anne and their dogs. He has always been so proud of the achievements of their Millthorpe PONs and Newfie’s.

Rest in Peace Terry - you will be very much missed by all PON owners who had the pleasure of knowing you.

The whole club are thinking of Anne and family at this very sad time.
